Full Circle Studio - Vancouver Pilates - Homemade Popsicle Recipe - Refreshing

Summer is in full swing and it can be tempting to reach for those cool, sugary, frozen treats for a bit of relief. We’ve got an idea for a better, healthier choice! How about a home-made, high protein popsicle? They do take a bit more planning than grabbing a Freezie from the corner store but you and your body will be thankful.

Here is what you will need:

  • Popsicle makers
  • A handful of strawberries, frozen works but this time of year do yourself a favour and grab some fresh.
  • 1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • Half of a banana
  • A small handful of spinach leaves
  • 1/4 cup milk of your choice

The prep is very simple for these babies, all you have to do is add all the ingredients together in a blender, food processor, or you can even use an immersion blender. Whiz them all together until smooth, divide evenly into your popsicle makers and freeze, upright, for at least 24 hours. Once you’ve waited the agonizingly long 24 hours you go outside, find a spot of shade and enjoy your healthy treat, guilt free. You can take the extras out and wrap them in wax paper to store in your freezer, that way you can keep the popsicle train a rollin’. Explore different fruit combos to keep things fun. Mango and coconut milk maybe? Yum! Let us know how they turn out for you.

enjoy and stay cool!!!
