This is the Tree on Ladder Barrel. It’s an incredible exercise to open the front body! This variation works with one hip in full flexion, opening hamstrings, and the other hip in full extension, opening hip flexors, which can be a great way to rebalance the pelvis and challenge sacral nutation.
The Ladder Barrel is a lovely place to teach the Tree, because you get the support and feedback of the Barrel. Here we can see Darcy’s lower ribs are popping a bit; it’s due to being tight in her upper thoracic so the lower ribs are compensating…. ahh the joys of being a new mom and breast feeding!
