It’s that time of year again, time for resolutions and goal setting and we know that involves getting your bodies moving and working off those big holiday meals! But how exactly do you intend to keep up with your New Year’s resolutions?

It’s no secret that everyone struggles to keep up with their New Year’s resolutions. Most of the time, we adopt these new changes for about two weeks, then a birthday party comes along, you have a slice of cake (maybe a drink or two) and quickly go back to our old habits. Luckily, we are here to help! Here are some helpful tips :

  1. Find something that works and have fun doing it
As many of you know the long term effects of Pilates on the body are not just about weight loss. A regular Pilates practice will help strengthen the body to heal and prevent injuries, improve posture, and create a mind body connection that you will carry with you throughout your daily routine. At our studio, you won’t simply go through the motions. You’ll appreciate every exercise as you become more aware of the subtleties in your body and discover hidden strengths in muscles you didn’t even know existed!
  2. Commit to Pilates!
While we don’t discourage the occasional visit, you will only notice significant changes in your body and achieve your goals if you repeatedly come back for more classes at the studio. A simple way to make sure you keep coming back for more sessions is to sign up for one of our unlimited monthly memberships and commit to a weekly regimen. Afterall, we all want to get our money’s worth!
  3. Plan ahead
Look at your day planner and schedule your classes a week ahead of time. If there’s a day of the week that seems particularly busy for you, that’s fine. Simply schedule a class the following day! Whether you intend to come in twice a week or every day, it’s important to plan ahead of time so you allow “something to come up.”
  4. Be open about your goals and let us in
Don’t be afraid to let our instructors know what you’re hoping to achieve in coming to the studio. In fact, we pride ourselves on being a small business that is geared towards each individual who comes through our door. If you have any requests or questions about how to best support your practice, please connect with us. We’re here to help, and we’re not shy of nudging you when we haven’t seen you in the studio in a little while.
  5. Invest in your health
If you have a particular goal that you are determined to achieve, you may need some one-on-one guidance to help get you there, and we can help with that. Booking a private (or series of privates) is a great way to draw a game-plan and achieve what you set out for. Whether you’re hoping to rehabilitate an old injury, or carve out a six pack, our instructors will help you create a customized workout regimen so you can finally achieve your 2016 goals!
